The Abbey School

The Abbey School is the venue for all Festival activities. We'll be using the school's beautiful Old Hardcastle Hall and the newer and very spacious Richards Hall for the festival milongas.

The Abbey School is very close to the center of Reading and easily accessible from Jn 10 and 11 of the M4. The rail station is approximately a 15-minute walk. There are lots of pubs, restaurants, and bars within walking distance and a good selection of budget hotels.

There's lots of free parking in the Abbey School’s car parks. The main car park is at the front of the school. Overflow parking is through the gates by the main entrance (parking in marked bays and on the tennis courts).

If you need a lift or can offer a lift, we suggest you pop a post in our Facebook group. Say where you will be traveling from and what time (for workshops or milongas etc). If you’re not on Facebook just let us know the details and we’ll spread the word.

Hotels and places to stay

The nearest hotel is the Hillingdon Prince - just a few minutes’ walk from the Abbey School. The Hillingdon Prince have given us a special deal for festival bookers, using the code: PCLUB when making your reservation. This will give the lowest prices, free super-fast WIFI and if there's the availability they will upgrade the room free of charge (subject to availability).

Places to eat

The Oracle Centre is a 10-minute walk from the Abbey School. There's a huge choice of places to eat.

If you want something special, we recommend The London Street Brasserie (book ahead) or Buenasado Argentine Steakhouse.
